Forty years is a long time!

Long enough to witness extraordinary technological revolutions. Long enough to experience economic cycles, periods of uncertainty and moments of remarkable innovation. More importantly, long enough to build relationships that stand the test of time.

Very few companies have the privilege of witnessing four decades of technological revolution. We have been even more fortunate to share that journey with thousands of customers, colleagues and partners who, over the years, have each become part of the DEMSTAR story.

As DEMSTAR celebrates forty years in technology, we have come to realise that our story was not written only through technological expertise and consistency, but above all through the genuine human relationships we have built over the years.

Our story actually began even earlier.

DEMSTAR was established in 1967 as one of Cyprus' leading automotive companies. Yet in 1986, an unexpected opportunity presented itself when IBM looked for local partners to introduce the personal computer to the Cyprus business community. What seemed at the time like simply another business opportunity, marked the beginning of what would become a remarkable forty-year journey through the world of technology.

Looking back today, it is remarkable to consider everything that has happened since.

We have witnessed the arrival of personal computing and Windows, the birth of the internet, the mobile revolution, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital transformation and, today, the emergence of Artificial Intelligence. Each technological wave has transformed the way businesses operate and, most importantly, the way people communicate, collaborate and create value.

As technology evolved, so did DEMSTAR, enabling our customers to embrace new technologies at the right time and strengthen their own growth and competitiveness. We have continually adapted our expertise, embraced new technologies and reinvented ourselves when necessary. But while technology never stopped changing, one thing remained constant.

Our commitment to people. The good old human connection!

Perhaps that is because, throughout our history, DEMSTAR has always been a company of people before it was a company of technology.

Over these forty years, our role has evolved just as dramatically as the technology itself. We began by introducing personal computers and printing technologies into the workplace. Today, we help organizations protect their data, modernize their infrastructure, embrace cloud technologies, automate business processes and prepare for the opportunities of Artificial Intelligence. From delivering individual technology products, we have evolved into becoming a long-term technology partner, an extension of our customers' own teams.

While everything about our solutions has changed. The reason we exist has not: helping our customers use technology to build stronger, better businesses.

We have had the privilege of working with customers who have trusted us for more than twenty five and even thirty years and have, proudly, helped thousands of organisations navigate their own technology journey. We have built lasting partnerships with leading global technology vendors and worked alongside generations of business leaders across Cyprus.

These relationships represent one of our greatest achievements.

Technology will always evolve. Trust is what stands the test of time.

There were times when the road was far from easy. Economic crises, market disruptions, financial collapse and, more recently, the global pandemic challenged businesses everywhere. Yet each challenge reinforced a belief that has guided DEMSTAR since the beginning: successful partnerships are built on relevance, trust and being there for our customers whenever they need us most.

No company celebrates forty years simply because it had the right products and technology. It does so because it had the right people along the way.

So, there is one group of people without whom none of this would have been possible. The people of DEMSTAR. The … Demstarians!

Over the past forty years, we have shared an extraordinary journey together with well over one thousand colleagues. We have celebrated successes, overcome disappointments, navigated periods of rapid growth and faced some of the most challenging moments in recent history, from financial crises and market disruptions to the, unprecedented, pandemic.

Some of these people are still part of our family today. Others have followed new paths and new opportunities. Yet every one of them has left a lasting mark on DEMSTAR. Each contributed their knowledge, their dedication, their character and, above all, a part of themselves to the story we continue to write.

To every Demstarian, past and present... Thank you.

You helped build a culture. A culture founded on trust, respect, teamwork and genuine human connection. A culture that continues to define who we are as an organization.

Today, we once again stand at the beginning of a new technological era. AI is already reshaping the way organisations work and people make decisions. It is far more than another technological innovation. It represents a new reality that is changing the relationship between human knowledge and technology.

At DEMSTAR, we embrace this future with optimism.

Not because we believe AI will solve every problem, but because we believe the greatest innovations happen when technology and human expertise work together. That belief has guided us for forty years.

As we celebrate this milestone, we express our sincere gratitude to every customer who placed their trust in us, every partner who chose to work alongside Demstar and every shareholder who believed in our vision. Thank you for being part of this journey.

As we reflect on this milestone, our thoughts inevitably turn to our founder, Michalis Colocassides.

Even into his nineties, he remained fascinated by technology and genuinely curious about what came next. He saw technology as an opportunity to improve lives, businesses and society. His optimism and belief in people shaped DEMSTAR from the very beginning, and his wisdom and character  inspired all of us who have being part of the DEMSTAR story.

The first forty years have been an extraordinary journey. The next forty begin with the very same promise that has guided us since the beginning: as technology continues to evolve, our commitment to people will never change.
